Fridgy Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
Fridgy ("the app") helps you decide what to cook. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what control you have.
What we collect and why
Account data. When you create an account we store your email address (or the identity provided by Sign in with Google / Sign in with Apple) with our backend provider, Supabase. This identifies your account and nothing else.
Your content. Recipes generated for you, meal plans, shopping lists, your fridge inputs and cooking defaults are stored against your account so the app works across sessions. Recipe history expires automatically after 30 days unless you save a recipe to your cookbook.
Taste learning. The app records lightweight cooking signals — such as marking a recipe cooked, a loved/fine/not-my-thing reaction, bookmarking, or regenerate feedback — and periodically derives a structured taste profile (favored cuisines, preferred proteins, disliked ingredients, spice level, typical cooking time and calories) on our servers. You can see, edit, add to, or erase this profile at any time in Settings → Taste profile ("Start fresh" clears everything learned; your own entries are kept until you remove them).
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple; Fridgy never sees your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; RevenueCat receives your app user id and purchase state.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical crash report (stack trace, device model, OS version) is sent to Sentry so we can fix bugs. Crash reporting is configured without personal identifiers, screenshots, or usage analytics. We do not use any analytics or advertising SDKs.
AI processing. Recipe generation and taste analysis use a large-language-model provider (Google Gemini) called from our servers. Your fridge inputs, preferences and cooking signals are sent to the model to produce recipes; the API key and the calls never leave our backend, and prompts are not used by us to identify you.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, no ad tracking, no selling of data.
- No usage analytics or behavioral profiling beyond the taste profile described above (which exists solely to improve YOUR recipes and is visible and editable in Settings).
- No contacts, photos, location, or microphone access.
Data retention & deletion
Your data lives in our Supabase project. Unsaved recipe history expires after 30 days. Deleting your account in Settings → Account → Delete account permanently erases your account, recipes, plans, counters, subscription entitlement record, cooking signals and taste profile. An active App Store subscription is managed by Apple and must be cancelled separately in your device Settings.
Your rights (GDPR)
You can access and edit your taste profile in the app, and erase everything via in-app account deletion. For any other request (export, correction), contact us at contact@usefridgy.app.
Changes
We will update this page and the "last updated" date when the policy changes materially.
